About European Championships 2018
Bringing together the existing championships of some of the leading sports in the continent, the European Championship is a multi-sport event with its opening edition in 2018 hosted by the cities of Berlin and Glasgow. The Golf European championship, Triathlon, Rowing, Gymnastics, Cycling and Aquatics will take place in Glasgow, while the European Athletics Championships will be held in Berlin. ‘Mark of a Champion’ is the new brand under which the championships are being staged.
Events That Will Be Held
The competition kicks off in Glasgow with open water swimming at Loch Lomond, diving at the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh, and synchronized swimming at the Scotstoun Sports Campus. The athletics will take place at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
The cycling event will bring together the 4 Olympic disciplines of BMX, mountain bike, road and track together for the first time, and will take place at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow. The participants will be covering the new Olympic standard BMX track, the Cathkin Braes Mountain Bike Trails and the streets of Glasgow.
Staging the Golf Team Championships will be the Gleneagles, which served as a venue for Ryder Cup in 2014. On the other hand, gymnastics will be taking place at the SSE Hydro, where 2015 World Gymnastics Championships was held. Triathlon and rowing competitions will be staged at the Strathclyde Country Park.
Broadcasting
Under the European Broadcasting Union, all of the major free-to-air broadcasters will be broadcasting championships in 2018. The coverage is confirmed across top 5 markets, and the level of coverage will also be upgraded by a deal with Eurosport.

Tickets are now available to purchase for the Berlin and Glasgow 2018 Championships, with as many as 5 categories available, including family and premium tickets. There are also multi-event tickets for decathlon and heptathlon, and you can save 18 percent for purchasing a 2-day ticket. With evening tickets starting at 16.5 Euro, the family ticket for 3 people is a reasonable option. If you want the best seats on the finishing line, you can get it at a discounted rate, if you book for 6 evening sessions.
