Winter has arrived again in London, and this means glittering holiday lights, Christmas songs, and lots of festivities. There is no better place to be than in the United Kingdom, due to the world class atmosphere, cultural variety and upscale shopping, dining and lodging. Below is a list of seven highly anticipated events that will be held this month, be sure to use London coach rental to attend them.
Winterville
Winterville is returning once again to Clapham Common and will feature lots of dancing, drinking, skating and eating. Backyard Cinema is expected to appear with their fabulous Christmas Maze for kids while adults will be treated to a club atmosphere within the relaxing Roller Disco. There will also be a fairground along with a Santa inspired workshop.
People from all over the UK will attend, due to the live DJs, magicians, Christmas shows and other events. There will also be crazy golf, which can be played on a course which is powered by UV and lots of beer and cocktails for those who want to drink. Visitors will also be able to purchase souvenirs from the Solo Craft Fair.
Natural History Museum Ice Rink
This ice rink will be setup outdoors and will be one of the largest of its kind. It may be surprising to first time visitors that it would appear at a museum, but the location has become popular due to the Alfred Waterhouse architecture in the background, nearby trees and lights. The facility is also wheelchair friendly and will feature a bar/café indoors along with a balcony for viewing above.
After Dark
This event will be held at Chiswick House and Gardens and is described as an alternative to the city’s classical Christmas lights. This is because artist Nick Grey will defy the rules through the creation of illumination which encompasses spectacular light displays. Food and beverage trucks will also be available for those who want something to eat and drink while socializing under the breath-taking lights. Attendees will be able to stroll along a trail which winds its way through the area where they can see the 18th century architecture while enjoying the sights to the sound of music which is curated.
Winter Market at Southbank Centre
This year South Bank London will be hosting a winter market, one which is expected to feature all sorts of upscale merchandise. From antiques to jewellery, clothes, toys, edibles and other souvenirs which are handmade, this event will host attendees from all over the UK and beyond.
Christmas Lights in London
Each year the city of London celebrates Christmas by putting up an impressive display of citywide lighting. The illumination is magical; partly due to the creativity which is manifested, but also due to the fact that different styles and designs are used each year. Celebrities are usually on hand to switch on the lights, and speakers are also positioned in certain places where music will play. Combined with various fairs and ice skating, it is certainly an experience that you won’t want to miss. The street lights in Oxford are usually turned on first, in early November. Those who are in London this year can also expect to be treating to special dining offers, shopping gigs and pop up style performances.
Festival of Print
This unique event is expected to be held at the Mile End Arts Pavilion, by the Printmakers of East London to celebrate their twentieth year anniversary. This exhibition will showcase professional prints from more than seventy ELP artists, a fantastic display of their many different styles which range from modern printmaking to classical techniques and even processes which are experimental.
Macbeth
Macbeth is one of the greatest works produced by English writer William Shakespeare, and the play will be held this month at the Shakespeare Globe near South Bank. Whether you’re new to the works of Shakespeare or are a long time fan, you will be impressed by the performance of Paul Ready and Michelle Terry, the stars of the play. Their interpretation of this classic tragedy has been described by critics as being truly powerful and riveting, a must see event.
